Piper — Privacy Policy

Piper is a Safari Web Extension that runs locally on your device to provide playback controls and a cleaner viewing surface on supported video pages. This page describes, in plain terms, what data Piper does and does not handle.

Data we collect

None. Piper does not collect, transmit, or share any data.

• No analytics SDK is bundled with the extension or the host app.
• No identifiers (advertising, device, account) are read or sent.
• No browsing history is recorded or transmitted.
• No information leaves your device through Piper.

Data we store on your device

The only data Piper writes is your settings (six on/off toggles). They are persisted via the standard browser.storage.local API to the Safari Web Extension's sandboxed container on your device. They are not synced via iCloud and never leave the device on which you set them.

Permissions and why they are required

• Host access to youtube.com, m.youtube.com, youtu.be, and youtube-nocookie.com. Required to inject the playback controls and apply your preferences on the pages where you watch video. Piper does not read or transmit page content.
• Storage. Used solely to remember your six settings toggles between sessions.

Children

Piper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, so this is provided for the avoidance of doubt.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data Piper handles, this page will be updated and the App Store listing will be revised before the new version ships.
